Kapala Training 1 mit Dagmar Löwenkamp in Polen

30/05/2017 @ 19:00 - 04/06/2017 @ 13:00 CEST

Kapala Training 1  in English and Polish

The Kapala Training opens the path to an in-depth exploration and practice of the lineage of 11th-century Tibetan yogini Machig Labdrön and the related teachings of Prajna Paramita, the teachings about the nature of mind.

Kapala Training 1 is the first level of the Kapala cycle.

In this training you will learn a five-step practice of feeding and transforming your demons as it was developed by Lama Tsültrim Allione. This method is a modern variation of the ancient practice of “Chöd”, based on the Prajna Paramita teachings and taught by Machig Labdrön. The principles of “Feeding Your Demons” are taught in a way that are more accessible to western people than the sometimes very complex practices of traditional Tibetan Buddhism.

One´s own “shadows” or “demons” are no longer viewed as something that has to be destroyed or battled, but they are nurtured and accepted with compassion. By doing so we develop our own potential to integrate our “shadow” instead of suppressing it.

Parallel to working with our “demons” for which we will also make use of colors and clay, the main practice of the Kapala Training 1 will be the Prajna Paramita meditation. This meditation has its origin in one of the most essential and profound Buddhist teachings. It allows insight into the eternal Ground of Being out of which everything originates. It is like the space that pervades everything and has no boundary. It is the natural clarity of our mind (Prajna), also termed “mother of all  Buddhas” or “womb of all Buddhas”.

This Training offers an opportunity to work intensively with one´s own inner demons. For those working in healthcare professions it is also the first step for a certificate in order to be able to apply this method for their healing work with clients.

The retreat language will be English with a Polish translation.

She has completed advanced training courses in several humanistic and transpersonal psychotherapeutic methods as well as in breathing and bodywork. Since 1985 she has been engaged in the teachings of different Buddhist schools and has studied with Sogyal Rinpoche and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche for many years. It soon became clear to her that she wanted to integrate her Buddhist path into the therapeutic work. After completing the Karuna Training herself (the German version of the Contemplative Psychology program of Naropa Institute, Boulder, USA), she has been involved in its teaching as an assistant and co-teacher. Dagmar Löwenkamp has been a student of Lama Tsültrim Allione since 2005 and has been authorized as a teacher by her.
